An old variety of viola, many deep purple slightly elongated flowers with white eye, compact growth and very hardy. This viola was raised at Huntercombe Manor, Taplow, by gardener Jesse Foulke for the Hon. Mrs Cavendish Boyle (EVB) who was a notable gardener and author. |

A compact plant with flowers of creamy yellow, very prolific. Jeannie Jameson (the Irish whiskey family) was born in Ireland in 1890. She married Bryan Bellew, later Lord Bellew, and went to live at Malcolm House near Moreton in Marsh, where she bred this viola. She returned to Ireland to live and garden at Barmeath Castle in Co. Louth until she died in 1973. Scented |
